Keeping families safe is a primary objective of Triangle Family Services. Family violence is often a hidden problem that contributes to more visible issues such as financial instability, homelessness, juvenile delinquency, and mental illness.
Family violence is a major social, legal, and health problem in our community. Family violence is the leading cause of injury to women - more than car accidents, muggings, and rapes - combined.
The impact on children is especially devastating. Research has shown that child exposure to violence contributes to life-long physical, emotional, social, and mental health problems. In fact, child exposure to violence is the greatest predictor of future violent behavior - or victimization - in adulthood. |

The News & Observer recently published a series of articles highlighting the prevalence of family violence in our community.
Triangle Family Services is responding
to the issue of family violence through
the DOSE Program, the largest batterer's
treatment program in North Carolina;
and through Time Together Visitation
Center, Wake County's first supervised
visitation and exchange program.
