What To Bring To Your First Appointment

We ask that all clients be as prepared as possible for their session, in order to maximize their time with their counselor in resolving thier financial issues. That preparation includes completing and signing all pages of our application packet and bringing in all relevant documents that the counselor may need to review. Because the application packet includes a full budget evaluation, be sure to allow enough time to complete the documents at home before you arrive for your appointment. In summary, be sure to bring the following with you:

  • A completed and SIGNED Client Application Packet (download appropriate version below):
  • Your two most recent pay stubs
  • Your most recent utility bills (ex: telephone, water, gas, electric, cable). The counselor will need to see the itemized portion of the bills, not just the payment stub.
  • Your most recent credit card statements (mailed or PDF versions that include all 16 digit account numbers)
  • For housing appointments, your most recent mortgage statement
  • For housing appointments, all correspondence from your mortgage lender or their attorney
  • Any other relevant bills, statements, or paperwork
  • Be sure to come a few minutes early for your first appointment
  • The counselor's time is valuable - Give at least 24 hours notice if you need to cancel!
