Planned GivingThere are many ways to donate to Triangle Family Services! Many donors choose a Planned Giving program in order to contribute to TFS in a manner that is most beneficial to the organization, as well as the donor's specific needs. A few of the many Planned Giving options include: Example: Mr. Johnson, a local pharmacist, realizes that his company, Ecko Drug Corp, has a program which will match 100% of a charitable donation, up to $150. When Mr. Johnson donates $125 to TFS, his company puts in another $125, making the total contribution $250. Example: Mrs. Smith decides to set up a Charitable Remainder Trust with some real estate she has that has appreciated over the years. She would like to make a contribution to Triangle Family Services that also is beneficial to herself. A trustee, who is designated by Mrs. Smith, manages and invests the assets and pays her, as well as TFS, an income for life, or a set term of years. In addition, Mrs. Smith receives an immediate tax charitable deduction for a portion of the transfer that represents the gift to TFS, as well as the possibility to avoid capital gain taxes on the transfer. Example: Mr. Miller changes his will to say that after his death, he will give a certain amount or percentage of his estate to his wife, children, and grandchildren, and a certain percentage of what is then left, will be donated to Triangle Family Services.
